Dr. Huey Tran - Optometric Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Huey Tran is the founder and CEO of TransVision Eye Care. He received his degree as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry (UABSO). Previously, Dr. Huey Tran had graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. Before opening TransVision Eye Care, Dr. Huey Tran received his optometric training at Trussville Vision Care, Tuscaloosa Veteran Administration Hospital and UABSO Eye Care.
Dr. Huey Tran specializes in the treatments of eye disease and vision disorders with emphasis on glaucoma, eye allergies, and dry eyes. Dr. Huey Tran also enjoys fitting contact lenses for everyone, especially those hard-to-fit patients.
Professionally, Dr. Huey Tran maintains membership in the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Huey Tran is also a participating doctor for the InfantSEE program, which provides free comprehensive eye exams for infants.
Dr. Huey Tran enjoys spending time with family, culinary arts, exercise and travel.
Kim - Office Manager / Eyewear Specialist Kim graduated from Virgina Tech with a degree in Industrial System Engineering. As an office manager at TransVision Eye Care, Kim will work with our patients to make sure all their questions and concerns will be answered.
As an eyewear specialist, Kim will make sure that not only our patients will see better with quality lenses but also look better with their eyewear.
Sina - Optometric Assistant Sina is currently a fourth year student and UT Dallas. As an optometric assistant, Sina's job is to make sure that our patients will enjoy the time they spend with us at TransVision Eye Care.

TransVision Eye Care Comprehensive Eye Exam During a comprehensive exam, Dr. Tran will not only evaluate the quality of your vision, but also the health of the whole eye.
A comprehensive eye exam can provide early detection of other health problems including glaucoma, diabetes, vascular diseases and many others.
TransVision Eye Care.
Our comprehensive exam involves:
1. Checking your prescription: Refraction exam: This is the determination of your eyeglass prescription. We will then determine a plan to help you see more clearly and comfortably.
2. Checking your eye health: Dr. Tran will examine the eyelids, eyelashes, and the anterior portion of your eye, including the conjunctiva, cornea and iris.
3. Checking for glaucoma: Applanation tomometry exam. Dr. Tran will measure the internal pressure of your eye using state of the art instruments. This is one of the tests that will determine if you have glaucoma.
4. Checking eye for damage: Dilation of your pupils: This involves the use of eye drops that will enlarge your pupils. While these drops do not hurt, they can create blurred close vision for reading and a greater than normal sensitivity to bright light. Both of these side effects will last for 3 – 6 hours depending on your sensitivity to the medication and your eye color. You should remember to bring your own sunglasses, but if you do forget we will supply a disposable pare for you to wear home. Checking your peripheral vision: This will test your peripheral, or side, vision. Dr. Tran will test to see if you have any early warning signs for disease.
